Thank You Experts-Exchange! (EE)

experts-corporate-headquartersJuly has been a highly traumatic month beginning with mom going to ICU on July 3, 2009.  Mom was placed on life support for aspiration pneumonia.  Her quality of life would never be the same again.  We had meetings about how to write the final chapter in moms book.  During the interim she woke briefly and was very angry at being connected to all the tubes. We then had another meeting and life support was removed and a feed tube was inserted.  During another wakeful moment of clarity, mom pulled the feed tube out.  She could no longer eat or drink. One of the hardest decisions that my brother and I had to make was to allow her to die without tubes.  She died on July 18, 2009, a shadow of the healthy person she once was.

Then along comes an internet company like Experts-exchange!  EE sent an exquisite and luscious bouquet of fragrant flowers and a papyrus sympathy card (signed by 41+ employees) from their corporate office in SLO, CA.  I was overwhelmed with gratitude for such corporate thoughtfulness and kindness during this time of grief.  Ironically, I work for a local hospital in mental health (3 years) and only one member of administration sent her condolences.

Experts-exchange is located over 3000 miles from Keene, NH.  I have never personally met any member of their corporate office. I did meet a few east coast experts who contribute to EE and  have been virtually involved in one capacity or another with the EE online community since November 2000. (I was also pleasantly surprised to hear that my name is a staple over at the EE corporate office.)

I am forever filled with gratitude to be a part of such a fine online community and ultimately thankful for Experts-exchange support.

Thank you again Experts-Exchange!
